The Perfect Sunday

The perfect Sunday should always start with church,..thats a given. After church should follow a really good meal, that I did not have to cook.Desert needs to follow and it must include chocolate. On Sundays calories dont count. Its God's day and he made chocolate. My rule :)
After all that food, a nap is in order, with tiny little dogs to keep your feet warm. Then some knitting to make me happy.Today just might be the perfect Sunday. The husband is at a Superball party, the teenager is at her friends house and I have the house to nice and quiet.
I did manage to finish a few projects. The little duck set, was for the new grandaughter, born in August and the hats were obviously a Christmas project for my girls and their friends. They were a hit.I did discover my favorite person to knit for.My brother in law.I made him a pair of socks for Christmas and my sister says that he wears them almost every day.He thanks me every time he sees me.A person excited to receive my knitting, earns another pair.I knew I liked him...

The Never Ending Socks

I should say that I haven't finished my socks because a small rabid dog wouldn't let me near them.(I thought this picture was funny. For some reason she looks like she is growling.)She wasn't growling, but it might make a more interesting story.
Truth is life gets in the way.I have worked way too many hours and then I am so easily distracted.
I started a few other projects, didn't finish them either.I started a beautiful green vest, for my best friend and its almost done.It is also 80 degrees here today.I think I will save them for Christmas and then have a jump start on my holiday projects.
I also started a baby sweater and booties for the new grandchild due in August. The booties are done and the sweater is about 1/2 done.
My distraction at the moment is my new Iphone.I told my husband I may need a 12 step program.I have had so much fun downloading applications.I am addicted to Kelley Petkuns' podcast and she talked about her ipod touch with all the great things she added.
I have been listening to audio books, and reading a book on it with a kindle book down load.
I also found some great apps on organizing and one of my goals for the new year was to get more organized.
I have been a little more faithful with regular exercise ( but did fall off the wagon on vacation)but its a new week.
To top it off, I started selling Avon with Sam,my 15 year old.She sells at school and I sell a lot at work.
When I was taking the photo for this blog, Sam did say "You didn't finish those things yet?"
Rome wasn't built in a day.

I bought a new new favorite IPhone.I love this thing. Its on constantly and now I have discovered twitter.Well discover is a broad word.I found it but haven't quite gotten the hand of it.Im keeping this a secret from my kids because the response will go something like "Mom,aren't you a little old for twitter?" Or,something just as charming.
I haven't been knitting quite as much as I thought that I would.I have done some, but now that I am selling Avon and this new hobby ( called Twitter ) all my free time is spent elsewhere.
I do have that grand baby due in August so I cant get toooo carried away, but I cant promise anything.

Progress on my projects

iI have been inching along on my socks, working during my lunch breaks, and its slowly looking like they will be done.I am going to knit until I run out of yarn, so I don't waste any thing.I love them, and wish I were quicker, but I still love them.

I have also been knitting with Jeeves, the vest is almost done.I hope to finish the other front tonight.I think I am gonna hand knit the edge, and will look in some of my books for ideas on the front bands.I keep thinking that I should put some pics up on Ravelry, especially since this pattern is my own.
I  am trying to keep my resolutions and did exercise twice and knitted way more,oh well.:)I needed the therapy this week.
I am busy planning my baby projects for the new baby, and will start them as soon as I finish the vest.I will make a patchwork quilt, and LOTS of little socks,2@a time.Little itty bitty sweaters,in a few colors are planned.I probably wont make too many hats, since little one is coming in August,I am not sure if I am going to knit the quilt or sew it. Decisions, decisions.

New year(rear) resolutions

I have a few New Year ( I actually typed Rear, which is on the list!ha) Resolutions.Even though its a little past the 1st I figure its still at least with in the month. (I'm a little slow).
1. To blog once a week..I can do that.
2. To exercise 3-4 times a week.yup dooable
3. To study for my C.E.N.I want to be finished with that monster by the end of March
4. To knit as much as humanly possible and not have the house shut down by the state department..

My new married life, is pretty sweet. I am very happy and very busy. The new year is looking VERY busy.
Sam is settling into her first year of high school, and making lots of new friends,so there are kids here all the time.My sweet step daughter Meg is preparing to go off to college late August. My son Dan is getting married the beginning of August. Now the biggg oldest is expecting a new baby, her second, the love of my life..her son Kolby is 5.
I have enlisted the help of a new friend.I am calling him Jeeves. Part friend, part humble servant.I bought a knitting machine. I'm pretty excited. The Ultimate Sweater Machine. I have an old one, not working too good, and it was time for an upgrade...I love combining hand knitting and machine knitting.
I sure hope Jeeves has a big supply of caffiene. He's gonna need it.
I did manage to finish a the baby sweater set since my last blog, and that kid came early. Thanks alot kid.I was knitting like a maniac to finish. The Mom loved it, thankfully and the color was definitely the right one. I was a little worried if she would not like the slightly different baby color. But it was a hit.

We tried to go whale watching off the coast of Provincetown
today but the boats were full. I was thinking it would be more fun with the kids and so we will make reservations next year when we come up again. We stayed and shopped and did some
Christmas shopping.. That was fun.
I did make some progress on the baby sweater. The back and part of the front is done.
I am hoping to finish this by the end of the week and then make the hat. This is a very easy pattern. I did see a beautiful aran wrap sweater that would make a great winter project.
So my wheels are spinning and I am already thinking of the next thing!
I miss the kids and I cant wait to see them. Its been a great week.

Our quiet days are almost over.....

I started knitting this baby sweater for my best friends grandbaby, due the end of October.I think this will give me plenty of time. It is a fairly easy pattern and I have made it before for my own grandson when he was born.I am knitting away in the car, and while we are watching movies this week. I have been working a little on my 2@T socks, toe up. I am so crazy about the yarn and I love the fact that the socks will not be exactly the same in stripes...
Today we drove around and daydreamed about buying a place up here someday. We stopped at one beach and sat in the sun for a while.....Tonight will be a quiet dinner and a movie.....A few more days of bliss and then back to the real world........
